Our attorneys Dr. Chris Mader and Tobias Fritz are admitted and practicing in both Germany and Austria. Attorney Mader has been practicing in Germany and Austria since 2001 and 2002, respectively.
Thanks to our decades of experience in both countries and legal systems, we are competent contacts for German-Austrian legal matters as well as for foreign investors wishing to do business in either country.

Opening of our Innsbruck office
In December 2021, BC Legal opened its new office in Innsbruck in cooperation with Kantner Seeger Rechtsanwälte. Our attorneys Dr. Chris Mader and Tobias Fritz are now practicing in both Germany and Austria. Attorney Mader has been practicing law in Germany and Austria since 2001 and 2002, respectively.

Who we are
Two Bavarian-Austrian attorneys with first-rate credentials from the most renowned companies and law firms in Germany and Austria, with a combined 30 years of professional experience in both countries.
Dr. Chris Mader: 10 years as an M&A lawyer in U.S. law firms in Vienna and Munich, plus 5 years as head of the legal department of Sandoz in Kundl and Zumtobel in Dornbirn. Admitted to the bar in Germany and Austria. Serves as external legal department for automotive suppliers, IT and pharmaceutical companies (including BioNTech), among others.
Tobias Fritz: 13 years as a business lawyer for German and Austrian companies, currently serving as external legal department for hospitals in Upper Bavaria, advising mid-sized companies on business succession, company acquisitions, contract drafting and the implementation of compliance systems. Extensive experience in criminal defense litigation and preventive liability management. Admitted in Germany and Austria. Excellently connected politically.
What we do
Do you know a business lawyer in Tyrol who is excellent at his craft, thinks like an entrepreneur, drafts contracts just as quickly in German or English, under German or Austrian law, and is well connected locally on top of that? Neither did we. That is exactly the gap we fill.
Do you consider the hourly rates of your Vienna-based major law firm appropriate for routine work? Neither do our corporate clients. They book us as external reinforcement of their legal department on a per-day basis, for example 1-3 days per week. The larger the booked time budget, the lower the daily rates.

“Is this sufficient as advice over the phone, or do you need something in writing?” – Our experience: hardly ever does a memo or an email beat the efficiency of a personal conversation.
“I am not a specialist in this field. But I know someone who can get us the answer by tomorrow.” – We are not equally strong in every legal specialty. There are, for good reason, dedicated specialists, for example in antitrust, product liability or patent law. We know them. And we work with them selectively and cost-consciously whenever necessary.
